“I began taking my dog, a Labrador Retriever for hydrotherapy when she started showing signs of stiffness in her legs.
Knowing this breed is prone to arthritis I thought prevention is better than cure. It has certainly helped Poppy and I’m sure she enjoys it”
As you know Dexter was certainly in the wars when at just 6 months old he broke his leg in 3 places, and not a particularly happy dog when it came to being in the water! Whilst he only had a handful of hydrotherapy sessions with you, the difference in his mobility was very noticeable. Not just that – I take him for walks near a river now and he is just like a child splashing away in the water, chasing sticks and his overall fear of anything wet has completely gone away! A happier and fitter dog!
We were referred to BCHC by our vet when our older Stafford, Bella, developed arthritis in one of her front knees. With weekly hydro sessions and the highly professional, reassuring and caring assistance of Sandra and her team, Bella strengthened her joint and recovered from her problems. She is now running like a puppy again -
My 6 year golden retriever has undergone two reconstructive knee operations in the last 12 months. It has been a long process, but he is now back to his old self and enjoying life.
Hydrotherapy has really helped before, during and after his operations to keep him fit and mobile. Many thanks to Bristol Canine Hydrotherapy for all their advice, care and support.

We can’t praise Bristol Canine Hydrotherapy Centre enough. Always greeted by friendly staff in a relaxed atmosphere. Our staffy Lofty loves his time there and although he can sometimes be a bit lazy, he’s always encouraged and is very well looked after when we visit
